Apple is working on  iOS 15 with overhauled Facetime and Maps , but that’s not ready for public testing yet. Today it started rolling out iOS 14.7 and iPadOS Beta 4 to public beta testers, which could be the last public beta builds of the OS14 before the company will shift the focus of beta testing to version 15. Public betas or not, Apple will  continue to update iOS 14 This new version isn’t particularly exciting, it just restores the battery service messages that had disappeared from some iPhone 11 units. If you have this message, you still need to service your phone – iOS 14.7 isn’t going to fix it. At least that’s the extent of the changes according to  the official changelog .   Android 12 is currently in the beta phase and today, the fourth release of Android 12 Beta (not including the Developer Previews) is rolling out to Pixel devices now. The   Android Developers Blog   advises that this is a significant release as it moves Android 12 into the final phase of testing. Android 12 Beta 4 has reached Platform Stability, a milestone that means all app-facing surfaces and behaviors are now final in Android 12. This includes not only the official SDK and NDK APIs, but also final app-facing system behaviors and restrictions on non-SDK interfaces that may affect apps. So from Beta 4, you can confidently release your compatibility updates knowing that the platform won’t change. Developers should “start final compatibility testing for apps, SDKs, and libraries,” as Android 12’s app behaviors won’t be changing between now and the final public release of Android 12.   According to a report from   The Elec , Apple will be changing its camera module production process. The report explains that Apple normally purchased pre-assembled camera modules from its suppliers which would then be assembled into smartphones. Up to last year, Apple has procured double and triple camera modules from its suppliers LG InnoTek, Sharp, and O’Film that are pre-assembled. The Elec  reports that a Korean supplier Hyvision System will be supplying Focxonn with “camera module inspection equipment.” This kind of equipment is used to inspect the alignment of axes of various camera sensors. This suggests that Apple will no longer be supplied with fully assembled double and triple camera modules, but rather it will purchase individual camera sensors and produce the assemblies itself.
